The three luxury apartment buildings are located in the Putuo district in Shanghai and form the third and last phase of a larger high-end residential development.
Characterized by its great green park with densely planted trees stretching 800 m to the south, the development was named after the German “Black Forest”.
The architecture of the 3 towers with up to 100 m in height is translating the idea of large trees into contemporary building design by shifting random numbers of stacked floors against each other like a tree growing branches to all sides. The resulting terraces accommodate additional green in the vertical axis.
The latest technologies for structure, mechanical equipment and energy saving methods have been applied; inverted floor slabs without downstanding beams allow for services within the raised floor; triple high-tech glazing and external sunshading, combined with modern A/C equipment and floor heating contribute to an overall balanced energy consumption and comfortable living environment.
