As part of the city of Langfang, the Guangyang district is located at the northern edge of Hebei Province. It is positioned in the geographic middle of the economic axis running from the Capital of Beijing to its nearest harbor city Tianjin. In order to structure the site of the future Guangyang Business District in a way that a sustainable development can be established, the concept of a Multi-polar city is applied. This means that around a strong central business district there are sub-centers with their own specific identity allocated. In order to provide the different centers with a specific identity the theme of the seasons is chosen. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter inspire the spatial structure and the atmosphere of the design of the sub-centers. The Central Business District is defined as the 5th Season, meaning that here the variety of all the other areas can be rediscovered in a lively environment in the heart of the site. The five centers with their specific identities are distributed on the site in a way that each area can profit from one another. The CBD forms the center of the structure.
