Sustainability
Low-carbon
The pool, which was founded in 1935, is located about 15 km northeast of Kaiserslautern. Since the operational safety was no longer guaranteed, a general renovation had become unavoidable. While the entire technology was largely renewed, the character of the overall facility and with it the charm of the 1960s architecture was to be preserved. Apart from keeping the historical feature of the heritage, the technology also makes the pool a great sample among the green buildings and low-carbon facilities.
With the entrance building, the supervisory building and the storage building, three new green buildings characterize the facility. The pool consists of a multi-purpose pool, a non-swimmer pool and a toddler pool. The two large pools were lined with durable stainless-steel sheets. Between the pools there is a sunbathing deck, which is enclosed by supervision and storage buildings. The architectural services were provided by Molter Linnemann.

ENERGY-SAVING
Attractions of the pool are a large new water slide and the already existing diving tower, which was badly damaged and corroded. Now, retained as a historic element because of its significant 1960s architecture, the stability can be maintained for a long time thanks to the renovation measures. Optimal circulation and mixing of the pools will be achieved by a new vertical inflow system via floor channels and new stainless steel drainage channels.
LOW-CARBON
All pools have their own water circulation system with a surge tank. The disinfection of the bathing water is carried out by a full-vacuum chlorine gas system. The pure water is primarily heated by a 500 m2 solar absorber system on the roof of the entrance building, in order to keep the temperature. The use of solar panels and the introduction of the low-carbon water circulation system makes the whole facility a green, energy saving and environmental friendly heritage.
This sustainable modern heritage pool with low-carbon corporation, you will enjoy it for sure.
