Aiming to build the core carrier and backbone of Changzhou Jintan Economic and Development Zone, OBERMEYER provided conceptual planning and core area urban design for the Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industrial Park.

Background

Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industrial Park is located in the east of Jintan Economic Development Zone, Changzhou city, Jiangsu Province. It is the gateway of Jintan and Changzhou and a pioneer zone for the integration and joint development of Jintan and Changzhou. To contribute to the integration of Yangtze River Delta, the whole industry park is desperate for further transformation and upgrading.

A multi-dimensional, efficient and interconnected smart city

OBERMEYER enhances the traffic circulation for the park. Externally, transportation linkage forms a large pattern of interconnected mobility; Internally, the construction of the road infrastructure get improved, high-level public transportation is promoted, and three-dimensional as well as multi-mode public transportation network are introduced. It will accelerate the completion of new infrastructure and will promote intelligent digital management & operation of the park, and eventually be a sample model for smart parks.

A charming city with vivid images and green vitality

Relying on the main roads and water systems of the park, OBERMEYER proposed an urban public interface system of local characteristics. Based on the professional parks and key nodes, there will be an industrial exhibition corridor with a main axis and several gardens and three sections. According to each functional zone, landmark buildings will be placed to lead the overall image of the whole park. Taking the blue-green system as the context, various slow walking systems will be constructed to enrich the experience of open space.

A resilient city with ecological security and common prosperity

The characteristics of water city symbiosis is built while respecting the natural background and docking regional ecological network. The water vein and the green corridor are connected, creating the environmental characteristics of blue and green interweaving harmonious coexistence. Multi-level management and phased implementation will help the construction of the wetland system along Yaotang River. The advanced water management and ecological security measures will be introduced to improve the water ecological environment. It will provide a new solution of ecological space that is safe and resilient.

A city for leading industries

Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industrial Park will comprehensively expand cooperation channels with German-funded enterprises, promote industrial optimization and upgrading of the park as well as complement innovation resources in order to build an overall innovation cluster of intelligent manufacturing industry. Also, it will introduce top intelligent institutions, and provide cutting-edge research laboratories for better supports to those smart industries.
